Allan Redford

Allan Redford – LPO Director, President

Allan holds a Master of Science in Neuro-Ethology from the University of Toronto and is employed as a Wealth Advisor and Associate Portfolio Manager at ScotiaMcLeod. Outside LPO, you might know him from the stage or screen, yes, that episode of Kenny vs. Spenny, along with various roles in live theatre, film, and television.

In addition to serving as President of Little People of Ontario (LPO), Allan is also proud to serve as President of Little People of Canada (LPC) and Past-President of the Dwarf Athletic Association of Canada (DAAC). He joined the Boards to give back to a community that has given him friendship, strength, and purpose, and to help ensure that every person with dwarfism feels seen, supported, and empowered. His involvement across these organizations reflects a commitment to building stronger, more inclusive communities for people with dwarfism across Canada. He is passionate about accessibility, disability rights, and working toward a more equitable world for all.

In the years ahead, Allan is most looking forward to deepening our community impact, expanding programs for children, youth and seniors, and strengthening our advocacy voice both provincially and nationally.

Violet Elliot

Vice PresidentDirector

Violet Elliot – LPO Director, Vice President

Violet is an emerging producer, social media manager, content creator, and disability advocate based near Toronto, Ontario. Over the past few years, she’s focused on sharing disability-led stories and supporting disabled voices through her filmmaking and advocacy work.

A proud member of the LPO for over 25 years—since infancy!—Violet’s thrilled to step into her new role as Vice President and strengthen connections across the community. Violet recently served as the associate producer on the award nominated series The Squeaky Wheel: Canada, a disability focused production that prioritized accessibility and disability representation both in front of and behind the camera. She manages social media for various organizations across Canada and the U.S. and offers consultancy services to help organizations and individuals within the industry increase disability representation and access, ensuring that disabled people’s stories are told authentically on-screen and off.

In her spare time, Violet shares commentary and awareness about dwarfism and disability issues through a pop culture lens on her TikTok account, @itsvioletferguson, which has amassed almost 100,000 followers.

David Huynh

David Huynh – LPO Director, Treasurer & Co-Membership Coordinator

Born in Vietnam, raised in Austria, and now proud to call Canada home, David brings a multicultural perspective to everything he does. With a background in business and computer science, David is confident in his ability to contribute meaningfully to the team at LPO and support his friends and colleagues in any way he can.

Fluent in three languages, David has the privilege of connecting with people from diverse walks of life, enjoying the experience of meeting many different and interesting individuals. David’s professional path has included roles in technical service, but what keeps him grounded are his strong family values and a deep sense of community.

One of David’s proudest achievements was representing Team Canada at the 2017 World Dwarf Games, where he earned gold, silver, and bronze medals — a moment that continues to inspire his passion for teamwork and perseverance.

Looking ahead, David is committed to giving back to the community, bringing people together, and helping others whenever he can. David looks forward to growing the community, spending quality time together, and making a positive and lasting impact.

Sue Berzins

Sue Berzins - LPO Director, Co-Membership Coordinator and Past-President

Sue has been with the organization for over 25 years and is a Life Member. She has served in many executive positions on the board. Sue is the first recipient of the Jim Hill Exceptional Service Award. Sue enjoys the social contact, making new friends and the great support she has received from many members. She is married with a daughter and looks forward to meeting you at the LPO events.

Edward (Ed) Elms

Director

Edward Elms, M.D., M.S. - LPO Director

Edward Elms, currently with the Ontario Public Service as a policy expert, has previously functioned as a researcher, medical subject-matter expert and liaison to stakeholders for a number of diverse project portfolios. Ed's career has consisted of extensive experience in both Canada and the United States and has included being a former member of Anthem, Inc.’s National Advisory Board, where Ed worked with healthcare policy experts on tackling issues preventing seniors and people with disabilities from enjoying all aspects of community living. One of Ed’s more recent services to the community included acting as a Senior Course Mentor for the Master of Health Informatics experiential learning component of the executive stream at the University of Toronto.

Ed’s contributions to the LPO Board of Directors in recent years have enabled him to leverage his expertise to help individuals to live their lives to full potential.

Susan Flowers

Director

Susan Flowers - LPO Director

Susan has held many executive positions on the LPO board since joining in 1966 and is thrilled to be back on the board again. She is the founder of the Zoomer Boomer Healthy Aging for LP Seniors program in 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic. The group meets every month online and features speakers on a wide range of topics. The goal is to expand its reach Canada-wide.

LPO has enriched her life, and she enjoys giving back to our community. To relax, she reads, does puzzles, crochets, attends Church activities, and spends time with family and friends. Susan is also honoured to be the second recipient of the “Jim Hill Exceptional Service Award” and is an LPO Life Member.

Carrol Paleothodoros

Director

Carrol Paleothodoros - LPO Director

Since 2013, Carrol has served as a Director on the Board of Little People of Ontario (LPO). With a professional background in Administration, Marketing, Advertising, Supply Chain, and a long-standing commitment to volunteerism—including roles with United Way, Big Sisters of York, Sports Ambassador programs, JumpStart, and Toronto Modern Quilt Guild — she brings strong organizational, proofreading, and decision-making skills to the table.

Carrol's introduction to LPO began in 2008 when she met Allan Redford, now President of LPO. At the time, she had never personally known anyone with dwarfism, and Allan’s invitation to attend her first LPO Holiday Party was a turning point. Carrol was immediately welcomed and embraced by the community. When Allan later joined the Board, he encouraged her to do the same and put her skills to work in support of this inspiring organization.

Looking ahead, Carrol's goal is to help LPO remain a leader in promoting awareness, inclusion, and acceptance across Ontario and beyond. Carrol is pleased to be part of the Little People of Ontario organization, which offers meaningful support to its members, their families, and friends.

Adam Telford

Director

Adam Telford – LPO Director

Adam has had lifelong involvement with the LPO. He is the son of Richard Telford, one of LPO's 3 co-founders, and Jayne Turner, an early member who promoted the group to new parents of LP children. He studied Film & Television at Humber College and worked in that industry for about 15 years. He has since changed fields for finance, working for the Royal Bank of Canada for the last 10 years in a variety of departments, often as a team manager. Over the course of his life Adam has lived in Ontario and Quebec, and has been involved in both the LPO and the AQPPT (Quebec's provincial LP association). Adam is a man of many passions, with his two main hobbies being playing music and astrophotography.
