About the Ambassador Program

An LPO Ambassador helps connect new members, families, and community organizations to LPO, and serves as a resource for current members.

  • Responds to queries from new and current members
  • Helps answer questions about the LPO
  • Directs people to resources (doctors, books, websites, DVDs, contacts, etc.)
  • Volunteers to be a point of contact for new members to reach out

Core responsibilities include:
  • Update and maintain an accessible, user-friendly AbanteCart website
  • Manage site content (text, images, video), responsiveness and performance
  • Collaborate with Supervising Director; provide progress updates
  • Stay current on web design trends, UX and accessibility
Preferred skills:
  • AbanteCart; WordPress + WooCommerce familiarity
  • SQL/DB, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (asset)
  • Strong grasp of UX and accessibility principles

Hiring Criteria – Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ)

Eligibility Requirements

To be eligible, a youth applicant must:

  • Be 15–30 years of age at the start of employment**
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person with refugee protection for the duration of employment***
  • Have a valid SIN at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada

** Youth must be at least 15 at the beginning of employment; may turn 31 before it ends.
*** International students and temporary visitors/visa holders are not eligible.
